Il condizionale passato forma con il condizionale del verbo have (would have) seguito dal participio passato del verbo
I would have gone = Io sarei andato
Would può essere contratto in 'd
Alla prima persona singolare e plurale si può usare should ('d)

Negativa I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they would not have gone
Negativa contratta I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they wouldn't have gone
Interrogativa Would I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they have gone?
Interrogativa-negativa Wouldn't I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they have gone?
Short answers Yes, I would/No, I wouldn't
Il condizionale passato viene usato:
Per esprimere un'ipotesi, nelle frasi ipotetiche di tipo 3 (Third conditional):
John would have bought a bigger car if he had had a bigger garage.Per esprimere possibilità che non si sono realizzate nel passato:
I would have attended that course.Per parlare di desideri che non si sono realizzati nel passato:
I would have liked to be a pilot.
